DAWAYNE PLAYS PROTO-KAW CD RELEASE PARTY WITH KERRY LIVGREN

Proto-Kaw is the new CD by Kerry Livgren and the original members of Kansas. This is the original Kansas before Kerry found success with different members.

Dawayne grew up with the members of early Kansas/Proto-Kaw, attended many of their shows and even opened for them with his band Rathbone. In 1999 Dawayne shared his private collection of unreleased Kansas demos on the internet which directly led to Proto-Kaw releasing their new CD called "Before Became After". Not only do they thank Dawayne in the credits for his help - he appears in the Special Edition bonus video performing with Kerry and the band on stage in Kansas City.

To see more photos like this of Dawayne, Kerry and Proto-Kaw visit the MULTIMEDIA section.

You can read their story at www.protokaw.com and find the Special Edition that features Dawayne at all major retailers.

ROBERT LAMM RE-REPLEASES "IN MY HEAD" FEATURING SONG CO-WRITTEN BY DAWAYNE BAILEY

Robert Lamm has re-released his "In My Head" CD and retitled it "Too Many Voices". It includes a bonus track called "Schizoid" which was co-written by Dawayne Bailey/Lamm/Parthenon Huxley.

Lamm mistakenly left Dawayne's name off of the writer's credit, but in this message from his Official Forum, he admits to the oversight.

Posted: Friday March 26, 2004
Here are the facts as we now know them; The above mentioned title was in fact the original title of the song, My lyrics, mostly my music and which indeed, included a 'B' section (a recurring 8 bars) contributed by former CHI guitarist extraordinaire, Dawayne Bailey. At a later date Pathenon Huxley was brought in to finish the song, which then had a working, and later copyrighted title, "Shut Yer Mouth". The song was recorded during the In My Head sessions but not included when that album ws released. 11 years later I decided to include that track, as it was originally titled, on my forthcoming CD "TooManyVoices". I had inadvertantly not checked my files and realized too late, with the help DB, that he was a co-author. So I hereby give credit, and admit to oversight.

You can order the CD at robertlamm.org
